Presentation at Kilworth GAA, Co. Cork
What can we say about this year’s U14 Féile victory in Cork? To win once was remarkable but to do it back-to-back is an outstanding achievement for our club and for everyone involved. The players' performances got better and better over the weekend and, by the time they reached the semifinal and final in Kilworth on Sunday, the boys were able to dominate all opponents who stood in the way of glory. En route, they defeated teams from Louth, Carlow and three from Cork in a division which also included clubs from Kerry, Clare, Down, Derry, Donegal and Kildare. In the final, they faced the unenviable task of having to defeat our hosts, St. Mark’s, for the second time in less than 24 hours. Thank you to everyone who travelled so far to support the team and also to those who welcomed them home on Sunday evening. Special praise to the Longford Arms hosting what was another memorable reception enjoyed by all. Slashers Abú!
