Carol Murray Chairperson Slashers Hurling Carol Murray was awarded "Volunteer in Irish Sport 2019 - Longford at Farmleigh House Dublin on 12 November. Carol was cited as having held every imaginable position in the hurling club, dedicating enormous time. Carol was described as the life and soul of the hurling club and always the only female in a room full of males when it comes to county meetings in a football dominated county. Carol was named as the lifeblood holding the community together, a champion whose efforts behind the scenes largely goes unrecognised.
