Leader cup quarter final Slashers meet newly crowned county champions Mullinaghta on Friday evening next in what should be a good fixture in the quarter final of the Leader cup. Slashers have a budding young team eager to gain football even so late in the year and will relish a game against the new champions. Slashers have been fortunate to have the likes of Kevin Moloney, Gerard Flynn and Rory Maher on the edge of the team in recent games and this is a good sign for the years ahead as the club continues building the senior team. Training on Sunday included a challenge game that allowed the team game time for some of the younger players that are showing so well. Well done to Mullinaghta in winning the county final after so many years. U/21 Slashers went out of the u/21 championship V Clonguish on Fri evening last in a well contested game where a late Clonguish goal proved vital. Many of the Slashers team played very well on the night but just came up short at the final whistle.
