On Sunday evening last in glorious sunshine, our long awaited 2020 championship semi-final against Mullinalaghta took place in Pearse Park. It was fantastic to see a return of supporters to the park, and those fortunate enough to get a ticket were treated to an extremely entertaining, high tempo game. There was rarely more than a point or two between the sides throughout, with the lead changing hands a couple of times in the second half. But after Gerard Flynn managed to palm the ball across the line for a decisive goal late in the second half, Slashers held on for the victory on a final score of 1-09 to 1-07.
All roads now lead to Pearse Park this Sunday, 29th September where Slashers will meet Killoe in a repeat of the 2019 final. In what will no doubt be a pulsating affair, we'll be hoping for a reverse of the 2019 result. We look forward to supporters and businesses getting out the sky blue flags this week in support of our team! Slashers Abú!
