Leinster Champions!! Our ladies squad put in a marvellous winning performance when they took on Skryne in the Leinster Intermediate final on Sunday last in Kinnegad. In a very even 1st half the ladies had to recover from the shock of conceding two goals in a minute early in the game to end up with a one point lead at half time. Playing against the wind in the 2nd half, the ladies took the game to their opponents and dominated the rest of the game while only conceding two more points to run out winners by 3-10 to 3-06. This is a tremendous achievement by this bunch of players all of whom have been coached up through all the levels from U12 to senior level over the years. Congratulations to the mentors, our great supporters who came out in force in Kinnegad, and lastly to the players who have given us such great enjoyment this year culminating in a Leinster title. Just rewards for a great bunch of ladies. They now move on to the All Ireland semi final in two weeks time when they take on Connaught champions Charlestown.
