u14s reach final
Our u14s are through to the county final (See fixtures) after defeating Granard/Ballymore
on a score line of 5-16 to 1-11. The final score didn't reflect how close the contest was, with only a couple of
scores between the teams at the start of the second half. Well done to all the players and mentors on a great win.
u12s action
On monday evening last our u12's had an excellent win in Lanesboro over a very strong Shannon Gaels side in a
very useful challenge match. Short a couple of regulars we were forced to dig deep and a run of late points
secured a narrow win. Thanks to our hosts for a close, sporting game. We hosted Carrick Sarsfields in Slashers and we recorded a good win against a useful side. Thanks to our visitors for travelling in to us and providing us with a good challenge ahead of our semi final. There were many excellent performances over the 2 matches with particularly strong showings from Callum O'Leary, Liam Sloane, Micheal Mulcahy, David Nevin, Ozzie Hackett and Tim Connellan.
We now have a group of players who are all well able to play football. We play Clonguish in the semi final in
Slashers on 18 Sept and all support would be appreciated.
Squad (all played):
Stephen O'Brien, Ben Lynn, Danny Ogboko, John Murray, Sean Morgan, Donal Sheahan, Mairtin Kenny
Cian McGuinness, Liam Sloane, Ronan Sheahan, Dean Coughlan, Tim Connellan, Dean Wykes, Miroslav Cureja
Stephen Murray, Micheal Mulcahy, Ozzie Hackett, Callum O'Leary, David Nevin
Training from 6:30 to 7:30 on Monday evening
Our under 10 team were in blitz action last week, coming up against Clonguish, St Vincent's Og, Mostrim Og and
Grattens. Both Slashers teams acquitted themselves very well on the evening. Many thanks to all those volunteers
who helped out with teams and reffed games. It was much appreciated. Our all Ireland ticket draw takes place
this 18 Sep, please ensure all cards are returned by then.
