Comhghairdeas ó chroí le Goodness, Orla agus Mícheál. Flipeadóirí Longfoirt had good reason to celebrate the Longford Leader Sports starts announced during the week. Goodness Ogbonna who is a team member of the Republic of Ireland squad that is competing in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Qatar played his underage Gaelic football with Slashers. Goodness is an example to all young players as to what can be achieved with focus and work rate in sport and we wish him the very best as he develops his career in sport. Orla Nevin has been a constant pick for Slashers in the ladies senior team and a talented attacking presence in defence, helping to make it a seven in–a-row of county senior titles in 2025. Mícheál Mulcahy is a rising club dual player in hurling and football and was central to Slashers regaining the hurling championship in 2025 and reaching the Leinster special junior hurling with his incisive runs and crisp scoring. Mícheál has also been a key standard bearer in the Slashers football team and we look forward to seeing him in action in the years to come in the sky blue. Go n-éirí an t-adh libh go léir!
